      Used Equipment

At Quadro we understand the importance of having reliable equipment in achieving consistent product quality, operational efficiency, and safe manufacturing practices. While pre-owned equipment can appear to be an attractive cost-effective solution, it is often difficult to verify how a machine was maintained, operated, or what materials were processed during its previous service life.

Without a complete service history, there can be uncertainty around equipment condition, performance, and cleanliness. These factors may affect future product consistency, operational reliability, and overall manufacturing efficiency.

This page outlines key considerations to weigh up when thinking about purchasing or operating second-hand equipment compared to buying new Quadro machines. We can help you evaluate your options, maintain performance standards, and plan for upgrading to newer models.

      Our Used Equipment Policy

Our policy is designed to help protect our customers. Let us help you guard against unexpected errors from used equipment & ensure your continued manufacturing success.

Quadro supports eligible IDEX ex-demonstration equipment in line with our established policy guidelines.

For Used Equipment it is difficult to verify maintenance records, operating history, consumables used, or whether the equipment has been operated in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. In addition, the materials previously processed through the system may not always be known. We would urge caution when considering the purchase of used equipment.

      Considerations When Purchasing Used Equipment

When considering pre-owned equipment, the initial purchase price is often only one part of the overall investment. It is important to consider the total cost of ownership, including maintenance, support, spare parts availability, and operational reliability. The following areas can help inform your purchasing decision.

Safety & Regulatory Considerations: Without complete maintenance records and supporting documentation, it can be difficult to verify a machine's operating history or the materials previously processed through it. Understanding equipment history is important for maintaining product quality, operator safety, and compliance with applicable regulations.

Application Suitability & Performance: Equipment may have been configured for an application that differs from your own. Previous operating conditions, transportation, storage, or wear may affect performance. It is important to confirm that the equipment can meet your processing objectives and remains within a supported lifecycle phase.

Equipment Condition & Technical Integrity: Regular maintenance and the use of genuine OEM components can have a significant impact on long-term reliability. Before purchasing, consider whether servicing has been performed consistently, what parts were used and whether any modifications have been made to the original design.

Service & Support Availability: Review the support available for the equipment that is offered with your used machine, including warranty coverage, spare parts availability, technical assistance, and servicing options. Understanding these factors can help minimise unexpected downtime and support long-term operational success.
