The Original Cone Mill
In 1976, Quadro developed and engineered the original cone or conical mill. It has since evolved into the preferred milling technology, respected and utilized by global leaders in over 80 countries, across a range of industries.
Effective, Reliable Conical Milling
Now recognized for use in applications throughout the Pharmaceutical, Food, Cannabis, Chemical, Personal Care, and Cosmetics industries worldwide, the Quadro® Comil® is coveted by process managers looking to achieve optimum process efficiency and product consistency.
Since the introduction of the first Comil® - Model 196, Quadro Engineering has delivered industry-leading milling solutions. Our team of experts has since developed and released a further eight Comil® models with this same core technology at the center of our current equipment, all industry-leading products:
- Sizing wet granulated particles before drying.
- Sizing dry granules before the tableting stage.
- Delumping dry detergent during production.
- Deagglomerating dried fruits.
- Reclaiming - broken tablets, broken biscuits that are ground back into their powder form prior to being restructured.

Thanks to our decades of experience, Quadro have the largest range of screens available to ensure our customers can achieve their chosen Particle Size Distribution (PSDs). With a wide range of screens and impellers to choose from, it is critical that you select the correct set-up for your product and the required PSDs.
Conical Mill Screens
Thanks to our decades of experience, Quadro have the largest range of screens available to ensure our customers can achieve their chosen Particle Size Distribution (PSDs). With a wide range of screens and impellers to choose from, it is critical that you select the correct set-up for your product and the required PSDs. Hover over each card to view the specifications.
“R” Round-Holed Screens: Typically used for particle size reduction of dry materials, deagglomeration, homogenizing and bulk density controllability.
Screen sizes range from 0.006” (0.15 mm) to 0.250” (6 mm) hole diameters.
“G” Grater-Holed Screens: Grater (or Rasp) Screens are used for tighter particle size distributions of dry materials and to reduce the number of fines generated.
“Q” Square-Holed Screens: Primarily used for “wet mass milling” and general product sizing. Slotted screens are also available for products with poor flowability through "Q" screens.

Mill Impellers
Selecting the right impeller is critical to success. Quadro provides the widest impeller RPM range of any comparable conical mill. This ensures that you can achieve the desired PSDs and milling capacities. Hover over each card to view the specifications.
1601 Round Bar Impeller: The standard for dry particles or granules’ milling, raw material conditioning, gentle deagglomeration, and bulk density improvement.
1612 Forward Angled Impeller: Commonly used for high throughput of coarser particle size distributions. Typically paired with larger-hole screens after a fluid bed drier for granule “calibration”.
1607 Square Bar Impeller: The standard for “wet mass milling” and commonly used for general dry product milling and delumping. Provides slightly finer particle size distributions than round bar impellers.
